Exercise reduces stroke risk

Exercise sufficiently vigorous to work up a sweat decreases the risk of stroke in men, according to a report from the Division of Preventive Medicine at Brigham and Women’ Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The exercising subjects had lower body weights, lower blood pressures, reduced cholesterol levels and improved glucose tolerance. (Stroke 30:1-6, 1999) Copyright 1999 Phylis Austin
