Osteoporosis, mud therapy

Mud therapy is a traditional pain treatment in many European countries, but is rarely used in the United States. A report from Italy suggests that “mature mud” (mud in which bacterial growth has caused a change in the consistency) may increase calciotropic hormones and perhaps even osteoblastic activity. The subjects in this study had an actual increase in bone mass.
